  • List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature
    LPSN, authored by Dr. J.P. EUZÉBY, includes alphabetically and chronologically, the nomenclature of prokaryotes and the nomenclatural changes as cited in the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names or validly published in the International Journal of Systematic Bacteriology (IJSB) or in the International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology (IJSEM). A classification is proposed for all taxa (except tribes), and a hierarchical classification of prokaryotes is available.

  • Todar's Online Textbook of Bacteriology
    Kenneth Todar has taught microbiology to undergraduate students at The University of Texas, University of Alaska and University of Wisconsin since 1969. He received a PhD in Microbiology in 1972 from The University of Texas-Austin. His main teaching interests are in general microbiology, bacterial diversity, microbial ecology and pathogenic bacteriology. Currently, he is an emeritus lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he teaches Microbiology 100, "The Microbial World".
